Psoriasis is a chronic skin condition characterized by the rapid buildup of skin cells, leading to thick, scaly patches on the skin’s surface. These patches are often red, itchy, and covered with silvery scales. Psoriasis can appear anywhere on the body but is most commonly found on the scalp, elbows, knees, and lower back. It is an autoimmune disorder, where the immune system mistakenly attacks healthy skin cells, causing inflammation and accelerated skin cell turnover.
